🧭 Why I Became a Therapist

I’ve been drawn to human connection since I was young, and knew as early as middle school that I wanted to be a therapist. It wasn’t until I became a client myself that I experienced the deeper beauty of therapy—not just learning to cope, but reconnecting with myself, understanding my patterns, and learning to be my own advocate. I hope to offer that same transformative experience to you.

🧠 My Beliefs About Therapy

I believe therapy isn’t always about “fixing” things—it’s about learning to be with discomfort and uncovering who you are beneath external expectations. In a fast-paced world that values quick solutions, therapy can feel like a radical act of slowing down. But in that pause, meaningful transformation begins.

🧩 My Training & Background

I graduated fromColumbia University with a Mental Health Counseling Mater’s degree and I hold a New York State Mental Health Counselor License - Certified with Clinical Diagnostic Privilege (LMHC-D).

As an Asian Immigrant, I understand the struggles and challenges Asians might have faced in the U.S. I have worked in private practice and community-based clinics in NYC for more than 5 years , where I supported individuals facing complex psychological and social challenges. These experiences helped me develop a grounded, compassionate lens that’s sensitive to diverse life experiences and identities.

💬 What It’s Like to Work With Me

My approach is warm, relational, and insight-oriented. I integrate psychodynamic and interpersonal therapy to help you explore emotions, relationships, and recurring patterns. I see therapy as a mental workout—it takes effort, but it builds emotional resilience and self-connection. Together, we’ll slow down and create space to explore what matters most to you.

🌿 Who I Work Best With

I work well with clients navigating anxiety, emotional distress, and life transitions—especially those who feel “stuck,” “disconnected,” or unsure of who they are. My clients often say things like, “I want to understand where my emotions are coming from,” or “I want to be more at peace with myself.”

I have lots of experience supporting young adults, professionals, and individuals from Asian/Asian American backgrounds, but I welcome anyone seeking to understand themselves more deeply in a supportive, culturally attuned space.
